Our programmes are as dynamic and diverse as our student community and our city. We operate at the crucial interface of business, technology and entrepreneurial thinking and we actively support positive change through championing sustainability, equity and social justice.

With inspiring teaching and by partnering some of London’s most innovative businesses, our students develop their creativity, employability and self-belief. Through a focus on practice-based learning in our new facilities and lively campuses, they experience the benefit of real communities, real challenges and real London.

The Department of Innovation and Management is a dynamic part of the University of East London and is home to our academics working across Strategy and Leadership research and houses the Institute of Hospitality, Events and Tourism.

Our staff within Strategy and Leadership are at the cutting edge of developments across these disciplines, providing support and industry-led advice across the wide range of the School’s MBA programmes. Included within the Department, The Centre of Innovation, Management and Enterprise (CIME) aims to understand how businesses and enterprises are created, sustained, enhanced, destroyed and rehabilitated, in line with the challenges from the external uncertainty (e.g. pandemics) and technology advancement (e.g. Industry 4.0).

The Institute of Hospitality, Events and Tourism provides industry-inspired and forward-facing events, hospitality, tourism and sports management courses that combine both theory and practice for students.

University of East London Vision 2028

The University of East London is an award-winning careers-first institution. We’ve been preparing our students for the world of work for nearly 125 years, from the 2nd Industrial Revolution through to where we are now, the 4th and 5th Industrial Revolutions.

Located in one of the world’s most multicultural areas, our 25,000 students are a microcosm of creative diversity, representing 156 different nationalities. With London campuses in Stratford and in Royal Albert Dock, the University is at the heart of the industrial and creative shift east. The University offers specialist programmes that ensure our students have the skills, emotional intelligence and creativity necessary to adapt to a constantly evolving world and its new technologies.

With our 10-year strategy, Vision 2028, we are transforming our curriculum, pedagogy, research impact and partnerships, to make a positive difference to student and graduate success and create a lasting impact on our community.

Our vision is to become the leading careers-first university in the UK. But our strategic priorities also include a commitment to becoming a net-zero carbon institution by 2030 and harnessing the power of sport to transform lives individually, locally and nationally.

In 2021, we celebrated the launch of our multi-million-pound Connected Campus improvement programme, designed to increase the accessibility of our campuses to our community and to enhance the education and industry interface digitally and physically.

We are at the start of an exciting journey that promises to develop potential and help students realise their dreams.
