Aequus Group Holdings Ltd (AGHL) and its associated companies are wholly owned by Bath & North East Somerset (B&NES), and was set up in 2016 to develop, deliver, own and manage property for both the rental and homeowner’s market. We are experts at building and providing great places for people to live in and around Bath and deliver quality developments in great locations through our two associated companies; Aequus Developments Ltd (ADL) – management of private rental and Aequus Construction Ltd (ACL) that develops housing primarily for sale. Both companies are also working with the Council on affordable housing.
We value innovation and strive to find new and better ways to deliver our objectives while remaining fiscally responsible. As part of our business plan running through to 2024, we will deliver £1 million of sustainable revenue financial returns to the Council as Shareholder through key activities such as delivering affordable housing sites, commercial estate repurposing and commercial development. We aim to build on our successful partnership with South Gloucestershire Council, where we are nearing completion on 30 new energy efficient homes including 11 affordable homes at Manor Gardens development in Frenchay.
As part of our succession planning, we are now looking to appoint a new independent Board Chair to steer the group and build on our success. You will be an experienced NED with ideally previous chairing experience, politically savvy with expertise and understanding of commercial aspects of the housing and development industry. You will also have a good understanding of the socio-economic, geographical and political environment within which Aequus operates, and understand Local authorities’ structure and operation.
Delivering our priorities in these challenging economic times takes strong leadership, and our new Chair will lead our board and executive team to deliver our promises. It’s a great opportunity to use your skills, experience and commercial acumen to deliver quality homes.
