Person Specification – Chief Executive Officer

Ideally you will have:

  • Demonstrable commitment to the vision and mission of BAFTA, with passion for both the brand and the industry
  • Developed awareness of the challenges facing the industry and experience of developing strategies to address such challenges
  • Sophisticated understanding of organisational culture, high performance team-building and delivery of a multi-dimensional mission, including matters of diversity and access
  • Previous senior-level leadership experience and ability to work collaboratively
  • The capability to think and act strategically and creatively and experience of delivering strategy from concept to implementation
  • Highly engaged leadership style with the tenacity to see ambitions translated into innovative, attractive and realistic forward plans
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the passion to articulate the vision and strategy internally and externally and represent BAFTA in any forum, whether to peers, Government, media, sponsors, the public, BAFTA’s members and the industry at large
  • A global outlook
  • Experience of delivering strategic change
  • A developed understanding of working in a public-facing role and being the face of a brand
  • Awareness of Charity Commission requirements and governance
  • Outstanding networking and strategic partnership experience
  • Ability to work under pressure, and to tight deadlines
  • Ability to build relationships across the creative industries, potential donors and supporters, business leaders and corporates
