About Us

  • The Trust is at the centre of health and care services for a population of 1.7 million people in Hampshire and the Isle of Wight.
  • We are bringing together what are currently disparate services provided through multiple different organisations. The core services are all of the community, mental health and learning disability services currently provided by the Solent NHS Trust and Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust. In addition, the Community and Mental Sealth Services for the Isle of Wight NHS Trust and the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services provided by Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust will form part of the new Hampshire-wide organisation.
  • The Trust operates in a complex political and organisational system in which the building of effective partnerships is crucial. Key partners include Portsmouth City Council, Southampton City Council, Hampshire County Council, as well as the District and Borough Councils. We also have strong relationships with 4 major hospitals and a wide range of voluntary and third sector organisations.
  • We are absolutely committed to enabling people and communities in the management of their own health and wellbeing, whilst working with partners to ensure that we work together in tackling the wider determinants of health and wellbeing, particularly employment and housing.
  • As a major employer we are committed to providing access to local communities and creating opportunities that support the wider economic and social development of those communities. We will use our ability as a major employer to leverage opportunity for our local communities, as well as helping address inequalities.

Equality, Diversity and Inclusion

We have strong and pro-active staff networks, special leave policies, flexible working policies, workplace adjustments put in place for those who need them, and development programmes to help everyone irrespective of background, to achieve their potential and thrive.
