Knowledge and Experience

  • Good understanding of the structure and framework of the NHS, local authorities and the associated financial regimes, and how our services should relate to these organisations.
  • Knowledge of the key policy drivers and challenges facing health and social care sectors
  • Knowledge of the issues faced by older people and services for them.
  • Knowledge of Army life and health and welfare in the armed services
  • Considerable experience working in the health and social care field or the ability to demonstrate sufficient experience in similar fields
  • Substantial experience of working as a senior manager within a senior management team
  • Considerable experience of working within a multi-disciplinary team approach with stakeholders internal and external to the organisation
  • Substantial experience of budget development, the management of costs, and delivery of value for money in health and social care services
  • Experience of leading and managing multi-disciplinary health and social care teams and older people’s health and social care services
  • Experience of life in military service or of working with military service personnel or veterans.
  • Considerable experience of providing line management, supervision and support to staff
  • Experience of taking high level safeguarding decisions and providing support and direction to staff relating to such matters
  • Experience in designing and managing interfaces between different internal teams to ensure seamless working and optimize operational efficiencies.
  • Experience in designing/or working towards recognized quality, assurance, or performance management systems        .
  • Evidence of devising and implementing a range of organization and service specific policies and strategies
  • Evidence of successful project management and implementing or informing strategic plans
  • Experience of engagement, negotiation and influencing different audiences and their specific needs
  • Experience of developing and sustaining a positive service culture among teams of health, social care, or housing staff

Qualifications:

  • A degree (or equivalent experience) in Health or Social Care.
