Welcome

Dear Candidate,

Thank you for your interest in the role of Director of Performance Marketing and Communications at Hearing Dogs for Deaf People.

Here at Hearing Dogs, we are passionate about transforming the lives of those with hearing loss. Our more than 1,200 accredited hearing dogs alert people to various sounds, build resilience and provide companionship to increase confidence and connection. Our hearing loss services provide a variety of much needed emotional and practical support services.

1 in 5 people in the UK have a hearing loss – that’s 12 million people. The World Health Organisation recognises hearing loss as the second most impactful and modifiable contributor to any disability experienced at any age, highlighting its significance on mental and physical health. Hearing loss can lead to withdrawal from social situations, emotional distress, loneliness, depression and increases the risk of dementia by up to five times.

Join us as our new Performance Marketing and Communications Director and help support us to build our brand awareness and attractiveness, and to increase support for our mission.

You’ll join at the beginning of a newly created organisational strategy which hones and focusses our goals, and which looks to refresh our brand, and personality for the future. You’ll have a unique opportunity to put your expertise into action, building on a newly developed web platform (due January 2025), developing compelling stories, digital content for our new service offer, refreshing existing products in the market and innovating around new products.

As an experienced MarComms professional, you’ll bring energy and passion for creating a high performing, curious and inclusive workplace culture. You’ll play a significant role in driving organisational transformation, helping to shape and implement strategies, and to ensure the attraction, development, and retention of top talent.

We have an extremely supportive Board of Trustees, and you’ll have the opportunity to lead and shape a new Performance MarComms and Data sub-committee of the Board alongside the new committee chair.

If you are excited to make a difference, then we look forward to receiving your expression of interest for this key appointment. Of course puppies are an added bonus!

Chief Executive
