About you – Essential Skills, Knowledge and Experience
- Senior operational experience, ideally within the not-for-profit or other relevant sector, with excellent leadership skills and experience managing a high-performing geographically dispersed team of 20+.
- Experience of successfully leading people through organisational, cultural or service/operational change.
- Ability to think strategically, to shape and implement strategy, build and deliver business plans, develop and deliver pilot projects/service improvement.
- Strong coaching, interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with the ability to collaborate, bring people together and influence at every level driving action.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to tailor communication to audience.
- A commitment to person-centred services and measurable outcomes, with the ability to review, analyse and interpret data and act on results.
- The ability to create and maintain clear, effective and uncomplicated systems reducing unnecessary administration.
- Experience managing significant budgets (at least six-figures), monitoring expenditure, supporting forecasting and reporting processes, including experience working with Finance and Income Generation teams to build, manage and report on restricted project budgets.
- Strong professional judgement, swift decision-making and the ability to manage complexity, risk and competing priorities.
- Solution focused, calm, decisive and resilient with an ability to see the big picture as well as being systematic, with attention to trend and detail.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently, as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Approachable, encouraging feedback and creating opportunities for reflection and continuous learning.
- A high level of digital literacy, competent in MS Office applications.
- A good understanding of safeguarding best practice.
Experience that Would be of Interest
- Experience working with volunteers to support service/operational delivery.
- Project management experience e.g., Agile or Prince 2.
- Experience working in the healthcare or animal-related not for profit sector.
Successful Applicants Will be Required to
- Have a full UK driving licence, with access to a vehicle during the working week, and a willingness to travel.
- Work flexible hours including occasional early mornings, evenings or weekends.
