Foundation for Future London is a funder and fundraiser for the East London boroughs of Hackney, Newham, Tower Hamlets and Waltham Forest, supporting local people and communities to benefit from learning, training and employment opportunities through arts, education, culture, innovation and placemaking.
We are an independent charity established in 2015 to connect local communities with the new East Bank and its globally renowned arts, innovation and cultural partners to ensure there are equitable opportunities and fair regeneration in East London where everyone gets to benefit and no one is left behind. We do this through a genuine commitment to a participatory grant making approach, coupled with innovative capacity building objectives.
Since our launch in 2015, we’ve been listening to local voices and connecting people and institutions, from bustling street markets and homeless shelters to hushed galleries and auditoriums.
East London is home to approximately 2,023,383 people. The Foundation for Future London is dedicated to creating new employment and life chances for people living, working and studying here.
Our vision is for a vibrant and inclusive creative East London, creating and facilitating authentic engagement and sustainable development in partnership with local organisations, East London boroughs, East Bank partners, our philanthropic donors and many others who are committed to our core values around environment, equality, diversity and inclusion.
Our founding investors are the flagship shopping centre Westfield Stratford City and the City of London. Westfield Stratford City has donated £10 million towards our ambitious grants programme, matched by a further £1 million investment from the City of London.
