Welcome

Letter from Co-Chairs Baroness Lola Young and Sir David Bell

We’re delighted that you’re interested in these positions, which will play a pivotal role in supporting our work as a funder, fundraiser and placemaker for East London, delivering outstanding work to benefit local people, through the transformative power of arts, culture and innovation.

The Foundation for Future London is committed to developing people, programmes and facilities that will contribute towards job creation, skills development and local regeneration. Our purpose is to invest in inclusive grantmaking and placemaking for the benefit of local people and communities in the London boroughs of Hackney, Newham, Tower Hamlets and Waltham Forest. You will also help us play a role in delivering the ambitious East Bank cultural and education district in the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. The new globally significant buildings that will emerge on the Stratford Waterfront will enable the best possible creative and educational interaction with the culturally diverse communities close to the park. A compelling, in-depth creative and educational engagement programme will be the cornerstone of the success of this venture as the final bricks are laid in 2023 and 2024.

Partnerships are at the heart of what we do as a sustainable development organisation, working as a connector, collaborator and supporter to the boroughs of Hackney, Newham, Tower Hamlets and Waltham Forest. We are grateful to our major donors and partners, Westfield Stratford City and City of London, who have worked with us closely to ensure that together we are tackling the key issues and problems in the city and creating life-changing opportunities for more people.

As a funder and fundraiser, the Foundation for Future London aims to be a catalyst, providing long-term investment and commitment to seeing equitable opportunities and fair regeneration in East London where everyone gets to benefit. We working closely with the vibrant arts, culture, innovation and creative organisations and local communities of East London along with the Mayor’s office, East Bank partners, East London Borough Councils, the London Legacy Development Corporation, and many others.

We hope you are ready to rise to this challenge and look forward to receiving your application.

Best wishes,

Baroness Lola Young, Co-Chair
Sir David Bell, Co-Chair
