Welcome

Note from Kate Pender

Thank you for your interest in joining Fair4All Finance.

We exist to improve the financial wellbeing of people in financially vulnerable circumstances by increasing access to fair, affordable and appropriate financial services. We believe financial products can, and should, serve everyone.

There are over 20 million people in the UK who are underserved or excluded from mainstream finance, and addressing that challenge sits at the heart of everything we do.

Credit unions are central to that ambition.

Trusted, community led and mission driven, they are one of the most strategically important mechanisms to improve the nation’s financial resilience. However, despite all of the fantastic work to date, growth in the sector has been slow.

Without coordinated change, these cornerstones of our financial system will fail to reach their full potential. That means becoming more sustainable, more scalable and even more responsive to the needs of modern customers.

Through our £30m Credit Union Transformation Fund, we are working with the sector to support the shift towards a more connected, tech-enabled future, with stronger shared services, improved products and greater regional collaboration.

We are now seeking a Programme Director – Credit Union Transformation to lead this work.

This is a rare opportunity to shape and deliver complex, system-level change. You will work across a diverse set of stakeholders—credit unions, industry bodies, policymakers and partners—to build alignment, drive delivery and unlock long-term impact.

If you are motivated by leading transformation at scale and delivering meaningful change for people and communities, we would be delighted to hear from you.

Note from Diane Burridge

This is one of the most exciting and challenging programmes we are delivering.

And this isn’t just an opportunity to manage a £30m fund, this is about  helping to reshape how a whole sector operates—bringing together organisations with different starting points, priorities and perspectives, and supporting them to move forward together.

We are looking for someone who can navigate that complexity with confidence and who can build trust, create momentum and translate strategy into practical delivery. The work will require both strategic thinking and hands on leadership, with the ability to engage at senior levels while also driving progress on the ground.

If you are someone who thrives in complex environments and is motivated by the chance to deliver lasting, system-wide impact, this role offers a genuinely unique opportunity.

The UK needs a stronger mutuals sector and a more inclusive financial system – and this role will play a key role in making that a reality. With a clear 2035 vision for England, practical partnerships and targeted investment, credit unions can become an even better connected, tech enabled network serving far more people at lower cost, and with greater impact.

The work of the Credit Union Transformation programme is a recognition of past effort, not a criticism of it – all of the hard work leading up to this moment has facilitated a great opportunity to go even further. The moment is here; together, we can seize it and help even more people living in financially vulnerable circumstances.
