Welcome

Welcome from Niall Dickson, Chair

Dear Colleague,

Thank you for showing an interest in the chairs post at 2Gether Support Solutions a wholly owned subsidiary of East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust.

In my short time here since my appointment as Chair of East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust, I’ve met many dedicated, talented and hard-working team members, enthusiastic and passionate people who live in our communities and work in our engaged partner organisations, all with a warm welcome and a keenness to make our Trust a success. In short, an organisation where we’re all about Great Healthcare from Great People.

We work across 5 major hospital sites as well as a range of community clinics, and we have a reputation for delivering several high-quality specialist services.

We have worked hard to ensure that we are a clinically led organisation, and all this is underpinned by our quality improvement programme.  Our ambition is to be rated as “Good” or “Outstanding” within three years.

To support our ambitions, we formed 2gether Support Solutions in April 2018 as a new, wholly owned subsidiary company of one of the largest NHS Foundation Trusts in the UK, East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust.

The Trust established the company to reflect its strategic aim to secure strong vibrant core facilities and support services for the long term, having signed a 25 year contract with 2gether. Recognising that these services would be best delivered in a new service model, a private independent trading company was formed to build on the existing service model whilst developing opportunities for greater service provision in the future.

The Trust has formed the company with social values at its core, ensuring that patients, staff and the local community benefit from the way the company operates. As a social values organisation, 2gether will engage with the social enterprise networks within Kent. Whilst the company remains 100% publicly owned with the Trust being its only shareholder, it does deliver commercial services to third parties and will build on this in coming years.

The right person will be someone who works well through others, who builds partnerships and inspires through influence and delivery. It will be someone who is passionate about empowering and engaging others, someone bold, confident and courageous and with great communication skills.

I hope this gives you a flavour of the exciting journey we are on to create the best possible health care services for the people of East Kent.

I hope that you will want to join us on our journey to achieve Great Healthcare from Great People, and I look forward to hearing from you.

Best wishes,

Niall Dickson
