In addition to the generic duties of a voluntary Board Member, we are looking for our Trustee with expertise in income generation to:
- Bring significant insights to how Comic Relief can maximise its relationships, brand, and engagement activities for income growth.
- Bring experience in fundraising from the UK’s diverse audiences and communities, particularly from high net-worth individuals, corporate partners, and the public, and of the challenges facing UK-based charities in maximising income streams.
- Bring a diverse and wide network of potential allies to Comic Relief.
- Provide advice and assurance to the Board of Trustees, around fundraising strategy and performance, working closely with the executive team and as part of the Finance & Fundraising Committee.
- Act as an authentic ambassador for Comic Relief.

- A commitment to and passion for Comic Relief’s vision of a just world free from poverty.
- Experience in fundraising from the UK’s diverse audiences and communities, particularly from high net-worth individuals, corporate partners, and the public, and of the challenges facing UK-based charities in maximising income streams.
- Knowledge of the UK fundraising landscape, how it is changing, and how it might further change.
- A track record or demonstrable understanding of generating income through digital innovation and/or a track record of diversifying income streams.
- An evidenced commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion.
- Excellent networking, influencing, and communication skills.
- Independence, sound judgement, an ability to speak one’s mind, and an appreciation of the critical role a Board plays, both in and outside Comic Relief.
