As we celebrate our 10th-year anniversary, Power to Change’s ambitious mission is to strengthen communities through community business. We transform innovative ideas into tangible actions, empowering communities to effect positive change. We firmly believe that community business fosters stronger communities and improved living environments. We have witnessed the creation of resilient and prosperous local economies when power is vested in communities. However, we acknowledge the challenges that hinder their success.
Drawing upon our extensive experience, we are collaborating with partners to implement, evaluate, and learn from successful initiatives. We are shaping the conditions for community business to thrive. As Chair, I am immensely proud of the progress we have achieved. Power to Change is a learning, adaptable, and values-driven organisation, and our work has contributed to the flourishing of thousands of community-led initiatives across various sectors, including energy, housing, heritage, and local food.
We are now embarking on a new phase. With our legacy firmly established and new partnerships emerging, we are looking to the future. Our primary focus is on systems change, deepening our support for underrepresented communities, and leveraging our influence to shape policy and funding environments
To support us on this journey, we are seeking two new trustees. We are seeking individuals with fresh perspectives, strategic acumen, and a shared commitment to our mission. One trustee should possess experience in finance, while the other should have expertise in public affairs. Above all, we value unwavering dedication to community empowerment
