We are seeking candidates with:
- Experience of being a Trustee, with a good understanding of Charity governance and finance issues.
- Experience of operating at a senior strategic leadership level within an organisation.
- Demonstrate a strong and visible passion and commitment to the Charity, its strategic objectives and cause.
- Exhibit strong inter-personal and relationship building abilities and demonstrate the ability to listen and engage effectively.
- Strong networking capabilities that can be utilised for the benefit of the Charity.
- Ability to foster and promote a collaborative team environment.
- An inclusive leadership style, able to inspire and support everyone to participate on an equal footing.
- Comfortable with challenge and debate and able to encourage that in others whilst fostering a collaborative board environment.
- Willingness to advocate for and champion HDfDP’s work through personal networks, social media, and other channels.
- In addition to the above, the Chair will have the responsibilities and qualities of a Trustee.
In most circumstances, it would also be desirable for the Chair to have knowledge of assistance dogs and / or an understanding of hearing loss services, plus wider involvement with the Charity sector and other networks.
