Thank you for your interest in the role of a Trustee at Hearing Dogs for Deaf People.
Here at Hearing Dogs, we are passionate about helping people live well with hearing loss. Our services provide a much-needed variety of emotional and practical support, including our Hearing Dogs. With over 1,200 accredited hearing dogs who alert people to various sounds, build resilience and provide companionship to increase confidence and connection, we help people live well with hearing loss.
1 in 5 people in the UK have a hearing loss – that’s 12 million people. The World Health Organisation recognises hearing loss as the second most impactful and modifiable contributor to any disability experienced at any age, highlighting its significance on mental and physical health. Hearing loss can lead to withdrawal from social situations, emotional distress, loneliness, depression and increases the risk of dementia by up to five times.
Join us as a new Trustee on our Board and support us to guide and govern the Charity to enable it to achieve its objectives with an exciting, new strategy. You’ll join at the beginning of a newly created organisational strategy which hones and focusses our goals, and which looks to refresh our brand, and personality for the future. You’ll have a unique opportunity to use your expertise to support the Executive Team for Hearing Dogs for Deaf People delivery it. We’re looking for Trustees with a range of expertise and experiences to compliment an extremely supportive Board of Trustees.
