Welcome

Guy’s and St Thomas’ Foundation exists to build the foundations of a society that helps everyone stay healthier for longer.

We are an independent foundation investing in a healthier society. We focus on backing people and ideas to drive more equitable health. For over 500 years, we have been a constant in London’s ever-changing landscape, at the leading edge of health.

Health is a collective outcome, created by the environments around us, supported by the agency of individuals and communities, and maintained through access to quality healthcare.

Our work as a foundation is active across each of these areas. We pioneer original approaches to health. We learn what works where and why. We then share that widely with those who have the ability to affect change systemically. In doing so, we work with a multiplicity of partners, among them funded partners including our local NHS partners through which we support the incredible staff and patients across Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust, policymakers, opinion formers, peers and commercial organisations.

With a wealth of senior experience from a diverse range of sectors, including health, technology, investment and property, our Trustees enjoy a strong connection to our mission and exceptional collaboration with the executive team.

Technology Trustee
As an organisation we have undergone a period of rapid change in recent years and are now commencing a digital transformation programme to ensure our IT infrastructure and technology are fit for purpose and enable us to operate as efficiently and effectively as possible. We recognise the importance of technology in helping us become a more effective funder, and its role in safeguarding the Foundation from harm. We are looking for an individual to join the Board who has the experience and vision to provide insight into new and future technologies that we can harness in support of our mission and who is able to support the organisation as we deliver our first technology strategy, with guidance and ability to provide oversight of appropriate technology governance principles for its design and implementation.

Thank you for your interest in becoming a part of what we do, and we hope you will choose to apply. We welcome all applications and our Board is committed to ensuring we reflect as much as possible across the organisation the diversity of the city we serve.

Becoming a healthier society is a collective endeavour, and what you bring to us would play a very important role.

Susanne Given,

Chair of the Board
