Guy’s & St Thomas’ Foundation is an independent charitable foundation with an endowment of c.£900 million, making it one of the largest in the UK. The Foundation invests in and partners with organisations to tackle significant health challenges, investing c. £187million in work in Lambeth and Southwark between 2021-2025.
For the last 500 years, our focus has been on backing people and ideas to drive more equitable health.
Health is created by the environments around us, supported by the agency of individuals and communities, and maintained through access to quality healthcare.
Our work as an independent charitable foundation is to be active across each of these areas. We pioneer original approaches to health. We learn what works where and why. We then share that widely with those that can bring systemic change.
To achieve this, we work with a wide range of partners. These include the incredible staff and patients across Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust, policymakers, opinion formers, commercial organisations, alongside local and national stakeholders.
With a wealth of senior experience from a diverse range of sectors, including health, technology, charity, investment and property, our Trustees enjoy a strong connection to our mission and exceptional collaboration with the Executive Team.
Our current Chair is stepping down after more than 5 years of service on the Foundation’s Board, four of those as the Chair. We are now looking for a new Chair to build on what she and our Trustees have already accomplished, including helping us implement our new 10-year strategic plan.
