Camden 2025
Camden has a proud, rebellious spirit that throughout its history has seen communities come together to tackle problems, and to bring about real social change. Camden 2025 sets out a vision for the future of the borough, where everyone contributes to achieving a safe, fair, creative and active community.
Together we want to make Camden a better borough – a place where everyone has a chance to succeed, where nobody gets left behind, and where everybody has a voice.
To succeed, Camden 2025 must act as a call to action that inspires a new way of working, where Camden’s people, the council and others come together to work differently to develop new solutions.
We strongly believe that through addressing disadvantage, we can contribute to ensuring citizens live happily and healthily, with better outcomes for individuals, families and communities.
Over the last few years we have been working hard to ‘shift the balance’ of our services to ensure we intervene early and prevent needs escalating – to enable us to focus our resources on those citizens who really need them, while also trying to prevent complex issues from happening in the first place.
Many residents are held back by problems and challenges that have been around for too long. We need to continue to innovate to respond to these long-standing problems, focusing on tackling the root causes.
Our Camden Plan
Our Camden Plan is the council’s response to the Camden 2025 vision. This is our plan for how we as an organisation will play our part to achieve the ambitions set out in Camden 2025. It reaffirms our values and ambitions, and shows how we will work with our communities to take forward our shared priorities over the next four years, between 2018 and 2022. This means working together to make sure that Camden stays an amazing place to live, work and grow up, where everyone can lead happy, healthy and fulfilling lives.
