Welcome

Thank you for your interest in being the CEO of Unlock.

Since 1998 Unlock has been helping people with criminal records move on positively with their lives. As a small national charity we punch way above our weight with our ear to the ground and our voice at the top.  From our helpline to our 2019 intervention in the Supreme Court changing the way criminal records are filtered, Unlock has a hugely successful track record.

But there is still much to do to allow 12 million people in the UK with criminal records to move on positively with their lives. Through the work we do with our beneficiaries we have a unique insight into what needs to change. We leverage what we learn to inform our policy and advocacy work.

We are looking for a CEO who can further develop Unlock to make sure the next 25 years is even more successful than the first 25. 12 million people facing stigma, prejudice and discrimination will be counting on you to empower them to move on with their lives.  Supporting you is an excellent team at Unlock and strong Board.

Unlock’s work in 2019 helped filter out past convictions for thousands of people. So if you are passionate about making a difference then we’d like to talk with you. It goes without saying that we welcome applicants from all backgrounds – social, gender, ethnicity, disability  – and, of course, anyone with a criminal record.
