As a Trust, we are in a strong position as a specialist provider of mental health, learning disability and autism services to the 1.22m people of Barnsley, Calderdale, Kirklees and Wakefield. We also provide community physical health services to the people of Barnsley and we are the lead provider for low and medium secure forensic mental health care to people across West Yorkshire. Care is delivered in both our local communities and inpatient settings by our 4,600 staff and annual income of £290m.

We are a high performing organisation with over 87% of services assessed by the CQC rated as ‘Good’ or ‘Outstanding’. We have a significant role to play in both the West Yorkshire and South Yorkshire Integrated Care Systems (ICS), working with partners to integrate health and care services to meet the needs of our diverse populations

The Trust is seeking to appoint a dynamic and engaging Director of Strategy and Change who will be accountable for the ongoing development and implementation of the Trust’s organisational strategy. The Trust’s strategy is linked to is mission and values, and needs to continually secure a sustainable future for services.

The postholder will be responsible for leading the Trust’s integrated change model which is focused on the continual development of an improvement and innovation culture across the Trust, and leading the work to both agree and monitor progress against our annual priority programmes.

Additionally, the post holder will be the executive director lead for Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion, and in conjunction with the CEO and Chair set the conditions for an inclusive culture. The postholder will also have executive responsibility for Trust communications, our approach to stakeholder engagement, and is the executive lead for sustainability and social responsibility, and digital innovation.

Relevant experience and a demonstrable track record of success operating at a senior management level along with significant experience of leading large scale organisational change is essential.  As a values-based organisation it is also essential the post holder aligns with our values and is a genuine advocate for the services we provide and populations we serve.
