Terms and Time Commitment
Governors are expected to:
- Commit on average 2 days a month to the role, attending a minimum of three of the five Board meetings each year.
- Serve on at least one Committee and to attend not less than 75% of the Committee meetings each year.
- Make an active and positive contribution to the organisation whether it be their time, skills, networks and through financial gifts; attend events at the Centre; and engage and work with the Southbank team.
Governors will serve an initial term of three years with a possibility of a further three-year term, up to a maximum of nine years.
The role is unremunerated. However, reasonable travel expenses will be refunded.

Applications are welcomed regardless of gender, age, marital status, disability, religion, ethnic origin, political opinion, sexual orientation, or whether or not you have dependents.
Appointments are made on merit, following a fair and transparent process.
New Governors of Southbank Centre are required to sign a declaration form to demonstrate that they are willing and able to act as director of Southbank Centre Limited and as a trustee of Southbank Centre, and that they understand Southbank Centre’s purposes (objects) and rules set out in its governing document.
