Person Specification – Chief Executive Officer

ESSENTIAL

  • Commitment to and passion for the mission and vision of SOLT/UK Theatre.
  • Senior leadership experience in a complex organisation in the public, private or voluntary sector.
  • A clear, authentic and collegiate leader.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to form new partnerships and influence key external stakeholders with credibility and impact.
  • Financial and risk management acumen.
  • Ability to scan the external landscape, proactively spot opportunities and respond quickly within a changing environment.
  • Proven ability to provide strategic leadership to the senior team and  wider staff group.
  • Creating and advancing a diverse, inclusive environment in which staff and the sector can develop and thrive.
  • Demonstrable track record of building a high-performance culture through collaborative engagement.
  • Diplomatic and ambassadorial skills and experience of effective and authentic engagement with cross-party political leaders, business leaders, staff, and media.
  • A track record of supporting innovation and challenging and changing the status quo inside and outside of their organisation and/or sector.

DESIRABLE

  • Experience of working with a membership body or in a unionised environment.
  • Knowledge of the theatre industry.
