The ideal candidate will demonstrate:
- Professional credibility – Chartered RICS member (MRICS or FRICS) with significant senior leadership experience within the built environment sector. [Will become FRICS upon election to SVP in accordance with RICS regulations].
- Strategic leadership – A strong strategic thinker with experience shaping organisational strategy and overseeing delivery against agreed objectives and business plans.
- Global perspective – An international outlook, supported by cross-cultural experience and an understanding of the needs and trends of a global membership organisation.
- Governance expertise – Strong knowledge of governance, professional standards, regulatory requirements and ethical frameworks, including the effective management of actual and perceived conflicts of interest.
- Collaborative leadership – A credible and influential leader with the ability to build consensus, work constructively with diverse stakeholders and provide effective governance oversight.
- Non-Executive experience – Experience as a non-executive with a clear understanding of the respective roles and responsibilities of executive and non-executive leadership and the separation between the two functions.
- Chairing and facilitation skills – Proven ability to chair meetings ,plan agendas facilitate constructive discussion and lead evidence-based decision-making in complex environments.
- Personal effectiveness – High levels of emotional intelligence, resilience and adaptability, with the ability to delegate effectively while maintaining accountability.
- Stakeholder engagement – Strong relationship-building and influencing skills, with a track record of engaging internal and external stakeholders to achieve shared goals.
- Language – Fluent written and spoken English.
