Welcome

Dear Candidate,

Thank you for your interest in our search for an exceptional Non-Executive Director to join our award-winning trust, where we put our patients and staff at the heart of everything we do.

At Rotherham Doncaster and South Humber (RDaSH) NHS Foundation Trust we are passionate about looking at ways we can enhance the quality of our service and our culture, and this is reflected in doing things our way, the RDaSHWay. Each year around 155,000 people access RDaSH services, which operate from over 100 locations across Rotherham, Doncaster and North Lincolnshire. We provide a range of mental health and learning disability services and our portfolio includes community services, such as sexual health, district nursing and health visitors, as well as our hospice in Doncaster and our Aspire drug and alcohol service.

We employ over 3,400 talented people across our wide range of services and locations – all are very much appreciated, valued and respected.

As a Non-Executive Director, you will join Board of Directors and contribute to ensuring we provide high-quality health services with the best possible patient experience that our population need and deserve. You will join a Board of Directors that holds accountability for the Trust by developing the strategy, culture, vision, and values of our organisation. You will work collaboratively and collegiately with internal partners and external stakeholders across our two Integrated Care Systems and three Places. At this time we are particularly interested in appointing someone with recent and relevant financial experience and someone with experience of being a member or chairing an Audit Committee.

You will be the custodian of our values, a key ambassador for our Trust, and show a commitment to inclusion and equity in everything you do. Bringing a track record of success in Board roles in the public, private or third sectors, you will demonstrate attributes and use your experience to help us achieve our vision developing and delivering a new long-term strategy.

You will be joining the Trust at an extremely unique and exciting time. Having appointed a new Chair in December 2022, the Trust is also awaiting the arrival of our new Chief Executive, Toby Lewis, in March 2023. Alongside these new appointments and the remainder of the Board of Directors this is an outstanding opportunity to help shape the future of the Trust and to ensure we remain a future focused and award-winning trust.

We actively encourage applications from the widest possible pool of candidates and particularly those from underrepresented and minority backgrounds, in order to ensure we are reflective of the diversity of our staff and the communities we serve, and if your ambition matches ours, we look forward to hearing from you.
