Welcome

Thank you for your interest in the role of Chair of the Nuffield Family Justice Observatory.

The Nuffield Foundation is proud to support this important organisation whose mission is to improve the lives of children and families by putting relevant data and research at the heart of the family justice system.

Over the past four years, the Nuffield Family Justice Observatory has established itself as a highly-respected and influential organisation in its field. Acknowledged as a trusted source of expertise, it has held up a mirror to the way that the family justice system is operating and has worked closely with judges, lawyers, social workers, families and others to draw on evidence to change practice for the better.

With a capable team and an outstanding Director in Lisa Harker, we are seeking a Chair able to maximise the value of the Nuffield Family Justice Observatory’s Board, which offers support and provides vital engagement and challenge to the team. The new Chair will play a crucial role in developing and coalescing the Board, which is itself made up of diverse and talented individuals from across the family justice system. Our aim is to build on past success to ensure that the Nuffield Family Justice Observatory can continue to act with shared purpose to support genuine impact for children and families at a critical moment in their lives.

The Nuffield Foundation’s funding of the Nuffield Family Justice Observatory reflects a commitment to social benefit that spans over half a century. For that reason, we hope to attract a Chair who shares our belief in the importance of this work and who would like to have a real impact on the lives of children and families for decades to come.

I trust this exciting opportunity will be of interest to you and we look forward to speaking with you further.

Professor Sir Keith Burnett FRS,

Chair of the Trustee Board,

The Nuffield Foundation.
