Chief Technology Officer

PART ONE

Essential

The ideal candidate for this position has a wealth of experience of technology platform delivery, has a strong understanding of providing services to internal “customers.” Leading technical teams and a deep understanding of the service management lifecycle is a must.

  1. Successfully leading and managing IT architecture teams to consolidate technology choices, ameliorate technical debt and establish sound effective working practices to meet rapid engineering requirements.
  2. Successfully leading and managing Cyber Security experts leveraging consultants and external services to meet end goals in a complex environment with heavily used public and business facing systems.
  3. Extensive experience of delivering technology solutions through intelligent use of cloud technologies (Azure and AWS) including migration, integration, dev-sec-ops and service management.
  4. Has delivered and managed business technology platform implementations / migration projects successfully.
  5. Proven track record of the developing and deploying service management processes as well as continuous service improvement delivery of IT operational services, including managing service delivery and quality of service, in partnership with business stakeholders.

 

Desirable

  1. Relevant professional qualifications, for example: ITIL, TOGAF, CISM, CISSP

Requirements and General Skills

  1. Evidence of the application of excellent stakeholder management skills, able to keep people engaged and informed and able to influence people at the right level
  2. Demonstrable experience defining and managing business value from IT suppliers and professional service providers.
  3. Highly skilled strategic thinker with the ability to translate across relevant technologies
  4. Able to evidence the creation, development and implementation of technology strategies
  5. Understanding of Microsoft cloud technologies and cloud platforms (e.g. Microsoft 365, Azure)
  6. Good understanding of information security policies and practices
  7. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  8. Meticulous attention to detail; strong organisational skills
  9. Passionate about customer experience
  10. Interpersonal skills/ability to interact and work with staff at all levels
  11. Commitment to “internal client” and customer service principles
  12. Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  13. Strong budget management skills, CAPEX/OPEX with good financial acumen to inform commercial decision-making
