With 40 years of impact under our belt, Lloyds Bank Foundation understands what communities need, brings people together, and helps community-led organisations grow their impact. We’ve been bringing our strengths as an independent charitable foundation alongside the strengths of Lloyds Banking Group since 1985, and over that time we have invested nearly £1 billion in real terms in communities through 45,000 grants, mostly to small, local community organisations.
We are now embarking on a new chapter in our history as we launch our new strategy in April 2026 with an aspiration to ensure everyone in England and Wales is in a good place – being able to say that they’re in a good place personally, in a home that’s a good place to live, and in a community that’s a good place to belong to.
From helping Childline get off the ground in 1987 to being a frontrunner in organisational development and capacity building, doubling the speed at which the charities we support grow long after our funding has ended, we’re an organisation with a history and a practice to be proud of. We’re now ready to scale.
Hand in hand with the Bank, and with partners new and old, we’re setting some ambitious goals for our future. Because the need is urgent. Communities are divided. Poverty deepening. Homelessness rising. And fewer people are giving to efforts to change that. But our communities hold answers. They’re full of hopeful, determined people making life better for their neighbours every day.
We’re going to back them, by connecting and catalysing community-led change. By building bridges between people, and opening doors to the things they need. And by speeding up and sparking change, supporting new ideas and helping good ones grow. That’s our new mission – and we’ve already started pursuing it.
Our vision: Everyone in England and Wales is in a good place.
Our mission: Connecting and catalysing community-led change.
Our values: Bold, Relational, Inclusive, Can-do.
