Welcome

Welcome from our Chief Executive

We want everyone in England and Wales to be in a good place: personally, in a home that’s a good place to live, and in a community that’s a good place to belong. That’s our vision and the reason this role matters so much.

We’ve just launched a new strategy. And with it comes a genuine opportunity: to unlock significantly more money for communities across England and Wales.

For the first time, we are setting out to use our reach and connections to generate new money for communities, be it through philanthropy, digital giving, or lending to the organisations that’s the right option for.

The scale of what’s possible here is huge. Lloyds Banking Group is one of the UK’s largest financial institutions, with millions of customers, tens of thousands of colleagues, and a genuine commitment to the communities they serve. The right person in this role can use our unique relationship with the Group to move giving from the margins to the mainstream, and to unlock potentially significant sums of social investment.

The Director of Income will build and lead a new directorate with full backing of our Board and support from the highest levels of LBG. This isn’t a role that requires you to spend your first year making the case for its own existence. The mandate is clear, the sponsorship is real, and the authority to act comes with it. You’ll start by working through our partnerships with Lloyds Banking Group and Cazenove Capital to make giving easier, more personal, and more impactful: for high net worth individuals, for millions of everyday banking customers, and for businesses that want to do more for their communities.

We’re looking for someone with serious commercial grip and senior stakeholder credibility — someone who can influence, build trust across a large corporate partner, with the communities at the heart of our work, and experts across the impact economy who want to come on this journey with us. Someone who has the strategic judgement to know when to move fast and when to hold firm.

If that sounds like you, I’d love to hear from you, because this in an incredibly exciting opportunity.

Matt Hyde OBE

Chief Executive, Lloyds Bank Foundation for England and Wales
