Thank you so much for your interest in joining Lloyds Bank Foundation for England and Wales as our next Chief Operating Officer (COO). This is a pivotal moment for the Foundation, and we are excited to welcome a leader who is passionate about making a lasting difference to community-led organisations, the wider sector and most importantly the lives of people across England and Wales.
With a bold and exciting new vision and mission, as well as a newly strengthened Senior Leadership Team, this is an extraordinary time to join us. After celebrating our 40th birthday in 2025, 2026 will see the launch of our new strategy. It will build on our forty years of experience and herald a bold new direction for the Foundation, continuing its work as a fearless and radical funder and strengthening its unique relationship with Lloyds Banking Group. In fact we want to be more than a funder – to connect and catalyse community-led change across England and Wales. Our bold and ambitious new strategy will enable us to do even more and meet the challenges and opportunities which are ahead.
The new COO will play a central role in this journey. As a key member of our Senior Leadership Team, this is a transformational role that will enable us to deliver our ambitions, turbo charging our culture and executing delivery that leads to major change. They will be responsible for ensuring we have the right resources, cross-organisational systems and the right processes in place to enable us to deliver our strategy.
The role is supported by a skilled and experienced Operations team, consisting of in-house Finance, HR and Office Management teams and outsourced IT support.
We need someone who thrives in a collaborative, cross-organisational leadership role, and who brings both technical expertise and strong people skills, leading high-performing teams managing the core functions. It is a role for someone with an enabling, ‘can do’ approach who wants to play a vital role in ensuring we operate at our very best. We’re looking for someone whose ambitions match ours, with the ability to co-lead the organisation, to engage with people at the highest levels of the Bank and externally.
The role has variety, autonomy and scope for the right person who wants to make a big difference to our effectiveness and who has the right range of experience and skills. Someone who is as effective on the technical aspects of the role as they are skilled in people management and emotional intelligence.
If this sounds like you and you are excited to make a major difference to ensure that everyone in England and Wales is in a good place, please do get in touch.
Matt Hyde OBE
Chief Executive
