Essential

  • Strong experience of developing a strategic vision for a similar scale of organisation in close collaboration with a Board.
  • Strong experience of change management and organisational transformation.
  • Experience of leading a similar sized workforce – accountable for direct line management – in a similarly complex environment.
  • Leader who can motivate and bring out the very best in their teams; supporting them to navigate challenges and uncertainties with resilience and adaptability.
  • Strong experience working of effectively with a board of directors, building and maintaining positive relationships. Understanding the dynamics and responsibilities of board governance preferably in a charity context.
  • Strong communicator who can influence effectively all levels externally (Ministers, senior stakeholders, wider sector), and represent the mission of the organisation publicly (media, select committees etc).
  • Demonstrated commitment to ethical conduct and high standards of integrity. Ability to make principled decisions in the best interest of the organization and its stakeholders.
  • Strong financial management skills, including experience of managing large budgets financial analysis, and resource allocation.
  • Ability to manage a huge and varied workload and effectively prioritise across competing agendas and stakeholders.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills – able to design and deliver presentations and communicate range of issues effectively in a clear and compelling manner, including the organization’s mission, goals and achievements, to diverse and varied stakeholders groups, including the board, commissioners, donors, media, service users, the media.
  • Proven ability to lead and collaborate with experts across a range of specialisms/fields to deliver an organisational strategy and deliver exceptional results.
