An Occupational Requirement exists for the postholder to be a practising Christian in accordance with the Equality Act 2010.
Essential
- A practising Anglican with a committed and mature Christian faith and the desire to support the overall vision and objectives of Manchester Diocese.
- An understanding of parish life, concerns and issues and the commitment to working with people from a range of church traditions.
- Experience in a senior corporate capacity, preferably with full financial responsibility.
- Able to think strategically about both finance and mission as well as understand and interpret financial information.
- A good working understanding of the principles of corporate and charity finance, investment and law, able to read and comprehend financial accounts.
- Proven ability as a chair at balancing conflicting views and reaching and taking responsibility for positive decisions.
- Able to lead, inspire and foster a collegiate way of working, as well as being able to provide challenge where appropriate.
- Good communication skills.
- IT literate.
- A commitment to Safeguarding.
- Eligible to act as a charity trustee.
Desirable
- A qualified accountant.
- Understanding of the workings of the Church of England at diocesan and national level.
- Charity governance experience.
