Job Title

Director General Legal Delivery.

Location

This job can be located in any CPS Office with regular travel to London expected, at least weekly. See our locations here.

Salary

SCS3 pay band range from £128,000 up to £180,000. More may be available for an exceptional candidate, but this is subject to the agreement of ministers. Existing Civil Servants will be appointed in line with the Civil Service pay rules. For level transfers, salary will remain the same.

Annual Leave

There will be 30 days paid annual leave. In addition, you will be entitled to all public holidays and to one privilege day.

Contract Type

This role is being offered on a permanent basis.

Assignment Duration

This role has a minimum assignment duration of four years. An assignment duration is the period of time a Senior Civil Servant is expected to remain in the same post to enable them to deliver on the agreed key business outcomes. The assignment duration also supports your career through building your depth of expertise. As part of accepting this role you will be agreeing to the expected assignment duration set out above. This will not result in a contractual change to your terms and conditions.

Please note this is an expectation only, it is not something which is written into your terms and conditions or indeed which the employing organisation or you are bound by. It will depend on your personal circumstances at a particular time and business needs, for example, would not preclude any absence like family friendly leave. It is nonetheless an important expectation, which is why we ask you to confirm you agree to the assignment duration set out above.

Nationality Requirements

The role of the Director General Legal Delivery is a reserved post open only to UK nationals.

Checks

The appointment will be subject to satisfactory completion of checks on health, security and other matters.

The successful candidate will be required to obtain SC prior to taking up the appointment and to undergo Developed Vetting following commencement of the role.

Restrictions

During the period of appointment there will be certain restrictions on political activities.

Business Appointments

Candidates should also note that on completion of the appointment, the post holder will be subject to the Government’s Business Appointments Rules, with the possibility of restrictions on future employment imposed by the Prime Minister, on the recommendation of the independent Advisory Committee on Business Appointments.
