The CPS sits at the heart of the criminal justice system (CJS), working with partners to help keep the public safe. We prosecute criminal cases that have been investigated by the police and other investigative organisations in England and Wales. Our duty is to make sure that the right person is prosecuted for the right offence, and to bring offenders to justice wherever possible. These offences can include burglary, terrorism, domestic abuse and multi-million-pound fraud cases. We also work across borders to tackle cybercrime, human trafficking, and drugs smuggling, and use our powers to confiscate the proceeds of crime at home and abroad.
The Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) created a new role of Director General Legal Delivery (DGLD) to provide leadership and direction to shape, develop and deliver the CPS strategic and operational priorities. I was delighted to be appointed to this role in June. I am now seeking to build a senior legal and operational team that will help the CPS deliver justice by ensuring casework quality and swift casework progression. Central to this objective is the appointment of two Directors of Legal Services.
I am looking for people with management experience and leadership skills at a senior level; people who can build strong and effective relationships both internally and with external stakeholders, whilst overseeing the delivery of day-to-day operational management and performance of legal services and delivering the strategic priorities for our CPS Areas and Casework Divisions.
