Hello
I am delighted that you’ve taken an interest in Arawak Walton and the Chief Executive role.
At Arawak Walton we are a people organisation. We put our customers and our colleagues at the heart of what we do.
We have a clear focus on our purpose with our roots in the African Caribbean community, Arawak Walton champions the provision of quality affordable homes in sustainable multi-cultural neighbourhoods.
We have a long history of building vibrant, inclusive communities in Manchester following the merger of Walton Housing Association and Arawak Housing back in 1996. You can read more about our history here. Today we are the largest independent black and minority ethnic (BME) Housing Association in the Northwest. Our footprint extends across Manchester, Stockport, and Trafford, where we continue to make a profound impact on the lives of our residents. Together with our dedicated partners, we’re committed to transforming communities into welcoming multicultural hubs where everyone can thrive.
As we look ahead to the next phase of our journey, we’re searching for a compassionate and dynamic leader to join us as our Chief Executive. As our new Chief Executive, you’ll have the unique opportunity to lead with vision, drive innovation, forge strategic partnerships, and champion diversity and inclusion. Your leadership will be instrumental in propelling us towards our shared goals of empowerment and progress.
The current spotlight on our sector and the increasing expectations upon us are challenging. There is a growing and urgent need to continue to deliver more affordable housing, to urgently address the quality of existing homes, and to listen to customers and respond effectively to their needs.
We are committed to rising to these challenges, building on our track record of engagement and delivery. Our colleagues and our communities are key and the new Chief Executive will be an empowering, compassionate and collaborative strategic leader, with senior leadership experience gained within housing or a similarly complex and community-focused sector, with specific understanding of the operational aspects of the business.
You’ll bring to Arawak Walton high levels of personal and professional credibility and a successful track record in managing change and developing and nurturing a strong culture in organisations. An engaging spokesperson experienced in building strong, positive relationships with colleagues, customers and communities as well as other key local stakeholders.
I hope that the information provided here gives you a flavour of the difference you will make and the opportunities and benefits you will enjoy from joining us.
I look forward to hearing from you
Adrian Carridice-Davids
Chair of Arawak Walton
