Support world-leading external expertise to shape and support each Policy Lab programme.<\/li>\n<li>Develop analysis, the evidence base and best in class products\u202fto support progress and impact on priority science policy areas and within each Policy Lab programme.<\/li>\n<li>Support the team to experiment with innovative and creative approaches to achieve their policy outcomes.<\/li>\n<li>Support close collaboration with the Government Relations and Strategic Partnerships (GRSP) and Comms teams to create and deliver advocacy plans ensure policy products and solutions are acted on.<\/li>\n<li>Work closely with Associate Director (AD), Policy to develop shared policy practice across teams, and support teams\u2019 learning and professional development.<\/li>\n<li>Empower a diverse team to develop and deliver this work, supported by an inclusive work culture and be accountable for the quality in the team&#8217;s outputs.<\/li>\n<li>Manage the team flexibly to deliver across priorities while developing deep issue-based technical expertise.<\/li>\n<li>Alongside Policy &amp; Partnerships colleagues, advocate for\u202fWellcome\u202fon\u202fscience policy and Policy Labs issues.<\/li>\n<li>Represent\u202fWellcome\u202fon policy issues relevant to Wellcome\u2019s vision and mission,\u202fdeputising for\u202fWellcome\u2019s\u202fCEO or the Executive Director, Policy &amp; Partnerships as needed.<\/li>\n<li>Act as\u202fa visible thought-leader\u202fand\u202fan on-the-record senior spokesperson for\u202fWellcome\u202fin the media.<\/li>\n<li>As a senior member of Wellcome and the Policy &amp; Partnerships leadership team, contributing to the overall leadership and direction-setting to achieve Wellcome\u2019s vision and ambitions.<\/li>\n<li>Undertake any other work that may be reasonably required from time to time.<\/li>\n<li>Be the owner of the risk and control environment for your area and be accountable for the quality of you and your team\u2019s outputs.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Skills and Experience<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Substantial, demonstrable experience of delivering policy outcomes on science and health policy issues in a global context, including using influencing and other skills to work through others to deliver policy outcomes where no direct power is held.<\/li>\n<li>Substantial experience of delivering policy advice to decision makers on complex or technical issue<\/li>\n<li>Experience of briefing public or non-expert audiences, including through media appearances.<\/li>\n<li>Experience of working with leaders of health and science-based organisations in regulatory, research and science sectors in multiple settings (ideally including a range of local, regional, national and global settings).<\/li>\n<li>Ability to identify desired long-term policy outcomes and define activities required to deliver them, drawing on Wellcome\u2019s strengths and networks and managing risks to delivery as they appear.<\/li>\n<li>Well-developed and demonstrable strategic planning skills \u2013 identifying the work and tools required to deliver objectives and mobilising resources to achieve this.<\/li>\n<li>Substantial Experience of leading a team through both line and matrix management.<\/li>\n<li>Experience of building, managing, leading and motivating diverse teams, ensuring that people with the right range of skills and experience are recruited and retained, and that their skills and professional capabilities are maximised within an inclusive team culture.<\/li>\n<li>Expertise and established network in science policy or a related area.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/section>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":0,"parent":0,"menu_order":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","template":"","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"footnotes":""},"class_list":["post-11","page","type-page","status-publish","hentry"],"acf":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/micro.green-park.co.uk\/wellcometrust\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/pages\/11","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/micro.green-park.co.uk\/wellcometrust\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/pages"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/micro.green-park.co.uk\/wellcometrust\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/page"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/micro.green-park.co.uk\/wellcometrust\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/2"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/micro.green-park.co.uk\/wellcometrust\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=11"}],"version-history":[{"count":17,"href":"https:\/\/micro.green-park.co.uk\/wellcometrust\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/pages\/11\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":118,"href":"https:\/\/micro.green-park.co.uk\/wellcometrust\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/pages\/11\/revisions\/118"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/micro.green-park.co.uk\/wellcometrust\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=11"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
