A Message from the Chair of the Board

At UK Youth, we know that great youth work doesn’t just change lives—it saves them. Our mission is to ensure that all young people, whatever their background or circumstances, are equipped to thrive and empowered to contribute at every stage of their lives. With a vast network of over 9,000 youth organisations and national partners, we reach more than four million young people each year, providing vital support, advocacy, and opportunities for growth—including through our flagship outdoor learning centre, Avon Tyrrell.

We are now searching for an exceptional leader to join us as our next Chief Executive. This is a rare opportunity to drive national impact, shape the future of the youth sector, and strengthen our financial sustainability and operational resilience. You will lead a high-performing executive team, build powerful cross-sector partnerships, and advocate for and with young people at the highest levels of policy and government. Above all, you will ensure UK Youth remains a fearless champion for young people and a catalyst for change.

A key priority will be developing and leading a bold new organisational strategy, recognising and responding to the evolving challenges faced by young people and the youth sector, while identifying new opportunities to shape the agenda for the future. You will drive income generation, ensuring we can continue to grow our impact. Just as importantly, you will foster an inclusive, high-performance culture, empowering our dedicated team to deliver at their best and embedding collaboration, innovation, and accountability at every level.

At a time when young people are facing unprecedented social and economic challenges, your leadership will be critical in ensuring UK Youth remains at the forefront of championing their needs, amplifying their voices, and driving systemic change.

If you’re a visionary leader ready to drive change, elevate young voices, and shape the future of youth work, we want to hear from you.
