Thank you for your interest in joining the UKROEd Board as one of our non-executive directors.
As an organisation, we are responsible for the management and delivery of the National Driver Offender Retraining Scheme (NDORS) on behalf of UK police forces, and we are passionate about making our roads safer.
Our parent charity is The Road Safety Trust, which is a grant making body. The Trust has awarded more than £12 million pounds in road safety grants over the past 10 years.
With a vision of zero deaths and zero serious injuries on UK roads, the work of UKROEd is fundamental to changing the behaviour of road users. All our Board – executives and non-executives alike – have a real opportunity to make a difference and are committed to delivering this valuable work.
Over the past 12 months the NDORS has delivered more than two million courses, and we continue to put Equality, Diversity and Inclusion at the heart of what we do to ensure that we can offer learning opportunities for everybody who uses our roads.
UKROEd is a sizeable business. We’re responsible for around £200 million of public money each year and navigate an advanced digital landscape with a variety of stakeholders including governments, police forces and our licenced training providers to deliver the scheme.
Since being appointed to Chair of the Board in 2021, I’ve found it’s a great team to be part of. The opportunity to make a real difference to so many people’s lives is a great motivator, and we encourage the right people to join our Board and drive this continuous improvement.
Whatever your background or experience, private or public sector, I know you’ll find being a UKROEd Board member both stimulating and rewarding.
We look forward to hearing from you.
Peter Strachan, Chair of the UKROEd Board
