We are looking to appoint a Non-Executive Member to join the UKEF Board, who will bring an experience of digital transformation to the Board. Highly credible candidates will bring executive experience most likely as a CTO or CIO.<\/p>\n

As a Non-Executive Board member, you will bring an external, independent perspective to UKEF\u2019s operations engaging in all items that come to the Board, and providing support, mentoring and challenge to colleagues across UKEF.<\/p>\n

Broadly,\u00a0Non-Executive Board Members\u00a0are expected to contribute to the work of\u00a0UKEF\u00a0in the following areas:<\/p>\n

    \n
  • Independence: provide independent support, guidance and challenge on the progress and implementation of the business plan.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
      \n
    • Strategy: constructively challenge and contribute to the development of strategy and business planning, including the setting and development of key\u00a0objectives\u00a0and targets.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
        \n
      • Performance: scrutinise the performance of the organisation in meeting agreed goals and\u00a0objectives, and\u00a0monitor\u00a0the reporting of performance, including financial targets.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
          \n
        • People: develop and encourage\u00a0appropriate behaviours\u00a0to\u00a0maintain\u00a0or improve the departmental people strategy, including ethical and directional issues such as diversity and senior jobholder moves.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
            \n
          • Governance: satisfy that governance, internal control and risk management systems are effective and capable of delivering relevant,\u00a0accurate\u00a0and\u00a0timely\u00a0management and financial information to the Board.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
              \n
            • Support: the Board in developing skills and tools to help it engage with strategic issues in ways which have practical resonance.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
                \n
              • Connect:\u00a0the\u00a0Board to people and organisations who can provide different perspectives, opinions and\u00a0expertise\u00a0which will\u00a0assist\u00a0in furthering the business of the Department.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
                  \n
                • The successful candidate will be a full Board member and asked to attend\u00a0committees,\u00a0and\u00a0will also be invited to join meetings of the Export Guarantees Advisory Council (EGAC) within UKEF.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                  Drawing on your experience, you will be the Board\u2019s key source\u00a0of\u00a0 advice\u00a0on\u00a0applying knowledge of\u00a0digital\u00a0innovation, emerging technologies (eg.\u00a0 AI, blockchain and quantum), data strategies and cyber resilience to support effective holistic\u00a0transformation, data\u00a0integrity\u00a0and organisational capability.,.\u00a0Challenging\u00a0and supporting the executive team with embedding new technology.\u00a0You will also be the Board\u2019s lead for Cyber preparedness.<\/p>\n
