class=\"content__column\">\n\t\t  \t\t\t\t<p><strong>Time commitment: <\/strong>25 day(s) per annum<br \/>\n<strong>Remuneration: <\/strong>\u00a325,000 per annum<\/p>\n<p>We are looking to appoint a Non-Executive Member to join the UKEF Board, who will bring significant executive experience in one or more international Export Credit Agencies (ECA) or the wider trade finance sector practice to the board.<\/p>\n<p>As a Non-Executive Board member, you will bring an external, independent perspective to UKEF\u2019s operations engaging in all items that come to the Board, and providing support, mentoring and challenge to colleagues across UKEF.<\/p>\n<p>Broadly,\u00a0Non-Executive Board Members\u00a0are expected to contribute to the work of\u00a0UKEF\u00a0in the following areas:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Independence: provide independent support, guidance and challenge on the progress and implementation of the business plan.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Strategy: constructively challenge and contribute to the development of strategy and business planning, including the setting and development of key\u00a0objectives\u00a0and targets.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Performance: scrutinise the performance of the organisation in meeting agreed goals and\u00a0objectives, and\u00a0monitor\u00a0the reporting of performance, including financial targets.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>People: develop and encourage\u00a0appropriate behaviours\u00a0to\u00a0maintain\u00a0or improve the departmental people strategy, including ethical and directional issues such as diversity\u00a0and senior jobholder moves.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Governance: satisfy that governance, internal control and risk management systems are effective and capable of delivering relevant,\u00a0accurate\u00a0and\u00a0timely\u00a0management and financial information to the Board.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Support: the Board in developing skills and tools to help it engage with strategic issues in ways which have practical resonance.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Connect:\u00a0the\u00a0Board to people and organisations who can provide different perspectives, opinions and\u00a0expertise\u00a0which will\u00a0assist\u00a0in furthering the business of the Department.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The successful candidate will be a full Board member and asked to attend committees, and will also be invited to join meetings of the Export Guarantees Advisory Council (EGAC) within UKEF.<\/p>\n<p>As the\u00a0ECA\u00a0specialist on the Board you will provide specific support,\u00a0challenge\u00a0and advice to the Executive team\u00a0as they\u00a0seek\u00a0to be a\u00a0best-in-class\u00a0ECA.<\/p>\n<p>Successful candidates will have the credibility to advise the Board and key government stakeholders, based on private sector experience and\u00a0expertise\u00a0in key areas including trade and export finance.\u00a0You\u00a0will\u00a0be required\u00a0to build an open and effective relationship with key stakeholders such as the Chief Executive and Chief Strategy
