Essential attributes:
- Understand the concerns and issues of passengers and users in the London TravelWatch area
- Live within the London TravelWatch area (see map enclosed and declaration on the application form)
- Have real enthusiasm for the issues that affect millions of London travellers
- Experience of working effectively with external organisations at all levels
- Ability to work closely with people with differing views to create consensus
- Ability to contribute effectively at a high level in a broad range of settings
- Good team player, with ability to work with fellow board members, senior employees and members of the London Assembly
- Experience of shifting the dial on diversity in a work or volunteer context
- Ability to absorb and understand information quickly
Desirable attributes:
- Interest and/or experience in campaigning and advocacy, particularly using digital communication skills
- Interest in consumer affairs and a broad knowledge of public transport issues
- Knowledge of the political context of the relationship between London TravelWatch and the London Assembly
- Knowledge of finance and corporate governance, possibly gained through a commercial background
