Terms of Appointment
The overall time commitment is two to three days per month and includes the following:
- Planning, chairing and following up quarterly meetings of the board of trustees and two away days annually. These mainly take place in London and some may require overnight stays.
- A commitment to join at least one committee of the board, and maintain regular dialogue with the chief executive, executive leadership team and chairs of the committees.
- Regular communication with other trustees, with an expectation for one meeting with each trustee annually.
- Visits to The Children’s Society offices, projects, shops, and events with key stakeholders as required.
The term of office is four years, renewable to a maximum of eight years.
Please note that an enhanced DBS is required for this role.
