Thank you for showing in interest in joining the Sovereign Network Group (SNG) Board as Chair of our Major Projects Committee.
At SNG we have always believed that a good home means we can achieve our potential – giving us the stability and security that allows us to focus on work, family and leisure. A good home in a great place frees us to make the most of our opportunities. A thriving neighbourhood means we can help one another, contribute to improving our shared environment and take our place in society. Sustainable communities make a positive impact on the planet, improve our health and wellbeing and lay strong foundations for the next generation.
On 1st October 2023 Sovereign and Network came together as Sovereign Network Group. We believe that by bringing our two businesses together we will be more resilient, giving us more to invest in new homes, in building safety and in decarbonisation. With a geography that stretches from Cornwall to Hertfordshire, taking in London and Bristol, we will be the leading housing association in the south of England with customers in cities, towns and villages.
We have a vision and mission to provide safe, secure and affordable homes for as many people as possible. We believe society benefits when everyone has the opportunity to realise their potential. A good home can make this possible however your life develops, whatever your family situation or health, and no matter how old you are.
As the political, social and economic landscape has changed around us, we have been ready to embrace change so we can shape the future. We have had to respond to big challenges, especially in the last few years, but that has not put us off making decisions for the long-term. We have both begun to see the positive impact of a business transformation our decision to merge has accelerated.
We are now an organisation responsible for providing 80,000 homes. Our development programme is the second biggest in the country.
SNG has a continued commitment to sustainability, for which our sector-leading Homes and Place standard is a cornerstone. We are determined not merely to limit our impact on the environment but to make a positive contribution. By building the social homes we need, we are securing the prosperity of future generations and by embracing digital solutions we are making our services easier to use and more efficient. The current cost of living crisis has again brought into focus how challenging life is for people on low incomes. We look forward to working with the new government to tackle these societal challenges.
By ramping up development, building more homes and investing in our current stock, to make it more energy efficient, we are helping some of the most vulnerable people in our society, providing them with far more than just bricks and mortar.
This is also an exciting opportunity to be involved in one of the largest housing associations in the country.
If you’re passionate about our social purpose and have the skills and expertise to help us, we’d love to hear from you. Please speak to our retained consultants, Green Park. We look forward to receiving your application and wish you the best of luck.
