{"id":16,"date":"2022-01-19T14:13:54","date_gmt":"2022-01-19T14:13:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/micro.green-park.co.uk\/southbankcentre\/?page_id=16"},"modified":"2022-01-28T12:43:34","modified_gmt":"2022-01-28T12:43:34","slug":"role-profile","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/micro.green-park.co.uk\/southbankcentre\/role-profile\/","title":{"rendered":"Role Profile"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<section class=\"hero\">\n\t<div class=\"hero__container\">\n\t\t<div class=\"hero__row\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"hero__image\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/micro.green-park.co.uk\/southbankcentre\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/52\/2022\/01\/banner3.jpg\" alt=\"\" title=\"banner3\" \/>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/section>\n\n\n\n<section class=\"title\">\n\t<div class=\"title__container\">\n\t\t<div class=\"title__row\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"title__content\">\n\t\t<h1>\n\t\t  Role Profile\t  <\/h1>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/section>\n\n\n\n<section class=\"content\">\n\t<div class=\"content__container\">\n\t\t<div class=\"content__row\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"content__column\">\n\t\t  \t\t\t\t<p><a name=\"_Toc93492541\"><\/a>Southbank Centre is looking to appoint four new Governors to its non-executive Board.<\/p>\n<h2><a name=\"_Toc93492542\"><\/a>The Board<\/h2>\n<p><a name=\"_Toc93492543\"><\/a>As a Governor you will be a member of Southbank Centre\u2019s governing body and a Trustee with responsibilities for:<\/p>\n<p><a name=\"_Toc93492544\"><\/a>Contributing towards and approving Southbank Centre\u2019s objectives and overall strategic plans, and its artistic, learning and participation, public affairs, marketing, development and access strategies.<\/p>\n<p><a name=\"_Toc93492545\"><\/a>Contributing towards and approving Southbank Centre\u2019s financial plans and strategies, both short- and long-term, cash flow management plans and annual report and accounts, and to review its risk management strategy, including its responsibility for Health and Safety issues.<\/p>\n<p><a name=\"_Toc93492546\"><\/a>Governors and the Executive manage the oversight of Southbank Centre\u2019s operations through a number of Committees, as well as the Board, including Finance, Audit and Risk; Property, Commercial and Sustainability, Development, People and Nominations.<\/p>\n<p><a name=\"_Toc93492547\"><\/a>Approving Southbank Centre\u2019s contracts and verbal commitments with a value in excess of \u00a31,000,000 or having duration in excess of 12 months.<\/p>\n<p><a name=\"_Toc93492548\"><\/a>Approving the appointment or re-appointment of the Chief Executive and Artistic Director.<\/p>\n<p><a name=\"_Toc93492549\"><\/a>Defining what the Board requires from the Executive in order to discharge its responsibilities, and to monitor the Executive\u2019s performance in that respect.<\/p>\n<p>Setting the terms of reference for and monitor the performance of the Committees of the Board. These Committees both in an informal and formal way, provide Governors with the opportunity to support, review, test and challenge, in a highly dynamic and collaborative way, the business model assumptions and performance as well as how best to explore new opportunities.<\/p>\n<p>Making recommendations to and seeking the approval of the Secretary of State, DCMS, on the appointment of a new Chairman and new Governors following consultation with Arts Council.<\/p>\n<h2>Person Specification<\/h2>\n<p>To be able to do this we are therefore most interested to hear from you if, in addition to the specific skills we are seeking, you can demonstrate:<\/p>\n<p><a name=\"_Toc93492552\"><\/a>1.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Deep knowledge of, and commitment to, the arts and culture and an understanding of the importance of the arts and culture to society with interests in Classical and Contemporary Music, Visual Arts, and Literature<\/p>\n<p><a name=\"_Toc93492553\"><\/a>2.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The ability to think imaginatively and strategically and contribute to effective decision-making.<\/p>\n<p><a name=\"_Toc93492554\"><\/a>3.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Commitment to championing diversity and ensuring that the benefits of arts and culture are available to the widest range of people.<\/p>\n<p><a name=\"_Toc93492555\"><\/a>4.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The ability to act as a credible advocate of Southbank Centre with key stakeholders in the sector and the ability to support Southbank Centre\u2019s work in building networks and effective partnerships.<\/p>\n<h2><a name=\"_Toc93492556\"><\/a>Time commitment<\/h2>\n<h3><a name=\"_Toc93492557\"><\/a>Governors are expected to:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Commit not less than 15 days a year and attend a minimum of three of the five Board meetings each year.<\/li>\n<li>Serve on at least one Committee and to attend not less that 75% of the Committee meetings each year.<\/li>\n<li>Make an active and positive contribution to the organisation whether it be their time, skills, networks and through financial gifts.<\/li>\n<li>Governors serve a term of three years with a possibility of a further three-year term up to a maximum of nine years.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><a name=\"_Toc93492558\"><\/a>Eligibility<\/h3>\n<p>Applications are welcomed regardless of gender, age, marital status, disability, religion, ethnic origin, political opinion, sexual orientation, or whether or not you have\u00a0dependents.<\/p>\n<p>Appointments are made on merit, following a fair and transparent process.<\/p>\n<p>New Governors of Southbank Centre are required to sign a declaration form to demonstrate that they are willing to act as a trustee of Southbank Centre, understand Southbank Centre\u2019s purposes (objects) and rules set out in its governing document and are not prevented from acting as a trustee.<\/p>\n<p>Further details are available from the Charity Commission.<\/p>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/section>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":0,"parent":0,"menu_order":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","template":"","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"footnotes":""},"class_list":["post-16","page","type-page","status-publish","hentry"],"acf":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/micro.green-park.co.uk\/southbankcentre\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/pages\/16","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/micro.green-park.co.uk\/southbankcentre\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/pages"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/micro.green-park.co.uk\/southbankcentre\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/page"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/micro.green-park.co.uk\/southbankcentre\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/2"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/micro.green-park.co.uk\/southbankcentre\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=16"}],"version-history":[{"count":7,"href":"https:\/\/micro.green-park.co.uk\/southbankcentre\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/pages\/16\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":89,"href":"https:\/\/micro.green-park.co.uk\/southbankcentre\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/pages\/16\/revisions\/89"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/micro.green-park.co.uk\/southbankcentre\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=16"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
