The Executive Director of Operations (EDO) at Scouts is absolutely critical to Scouts’ success. We have recovered well from the pandemic and in the past year we’ve seen the fastest growth in youth membership since World War Two, including welcoming thousands of Squirrel Scouts who’ve joined our new programme for four and five year olds. We’re focusing on growing Scouts into new communities, especially those most affected by the pandemic. This is a pivotal time to join us as we strive to make sure young people gain skills for life with us.
As a member of a high performing Executive Leadership Team, the EDO has a key responsibility for the delivery of our strategy, working closely alongside our Executive Director of Strategy & Transformation. You’ll take the lead on supporting thousands of volunteer leaders who deliver Scouts for young people across the UK. You’ll be accountable for all our operational activities, keeping Scouts’ safe and developing our programmes. You’ll lead a talented team of colleagues and work hand in glove with our volunteer leadership team to achieve our ambitions.

You’re an advocate for difference and diversity who is credible with a range of internal and external audiences.
