RICS is uniquely positioned to support and influence the profession&#8217;s response to these issues, and the Board Chair has an important role in ensuring the organisation remains focused on its purpose, strategy, delivering on its operating and financial targets and sustained long-term success.<\/p>\n<p>Since the granting of our Royal Charter in 1881, acting in the public interest has been central to the work of RICS. Today, we continue to uphold that responsibility by ensuring our members are competent, ethical and equipped to deliver the highest professional standards across the world.<\/p>\n<p>The role of Board Chair offers a unique opportunity for a Chartered Surveyor to contribute to the future of both RICS and the profession. Working collaboratively with Board colleagues, key stakeholders and governance bodies, you will help foster effective decision-making, maintain strong governance standards and support the organisation&#8217;s ongoing development and transformation.
