Welcome

Letter from the Chair

Thank you for your interest in the Chief Executive role at POhWER.

As Chair of the Board, I am naturally sad to see the departure of Helen Moulinos after almost four years outstanding service as our CEO, at the end of January 2024.  Helen successfully steered POhWER through the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic and promoted Human Rights through successful campaigning but I am also excited that we are able to offer the opportunity to a new CEO to continue her excellent work over our next phase.

Our mission is to deliver high quality advocacy, information and advice services, empowering people to have a voice and to make a real difference to their lives. We do this by speaking for them when they cannot and supporting them to speak for themselves when they can.

Our work remains significantly impactful and relevant at a time when human rights and entitlements have been tested, challenged and threatened. As a Charity which does not have a typical beneficiary, we seek to widen entitlement for advocacy to as many people as possible and we are therefore evolving and innovating in step with our beneficiaries and offering new models of support.

We’re looking to appoint a motivated, ambitious, authentic and enthusiastic leader who can build on our Strategy for 2020-2025, and take the organisation to the next stage of our development.  The Board looks forward to welcoming a new CEO to work with us and lead the organisation into the future, commencing work on developing a ‘beyond 2025’ vision and the next strategy for POhWER.

As Chair of the Board, I work closely with the Chief Executive, and I hope to have an open, supportive relationship with the new Chief Executive where we exchange views, options, and work together to ensure that our committed and talented staff deliver for the good of the people we serve. If you are looking for a purposeful, challenging, and impactful role, then please read this Information Pack.   Within this pack and in conversation with Green Park, you will learn more about our work and what skill set and experience we are seeking in our new Chief Executive.

We encourage applications from protected characteristic(s), who are currently under-represented. As an organisation committed to rights and creating equitable fair environments we welcome people from all backgrounds regardless of race, gender, gender identity, religion, sexual orientation, responsibilities for dependants, age or physical/mental disability.

I hope you consider this role and the opportunity this could present to you.
