Skills & Experience
Essential
- Proven experience in governance with strong chairing skills and the ability to lead an effective, inclusive and high-performing Board.
- Strategic leadership experience gained at a senior level, in the private, public or voluntary sector.
- Commercial acumen and mindset, with a track record of contributing to or leading significant organisational growth or transformation, ideally within a sizeable and complex organisation.
- Skilled influencer, with confidence engaging a wide range of stakeholders, ideally with experience of corporate or political networking and relationship-building.
- Understanding of community power, including the value of volunteers and distributed workforces, and how to mobilise and energise them at scale.
- Experience working closely with a Chief Executive to balance support and constructive challenge while maintaining clear governance boundaries.
- Commitment to champion and address equity, diversity and inclusion.
Desirable
- A personal connection to the cause.
- Previous experience of Chairing a charity.
- Media presence or engaging public speaker.
