Welcome from Chris Sherwood – the NSPCC’s new Chief Executive
Thank you for considering becoming the future Chair of the NSPCC. Leading an organisation that is as relevant and needed now, as it was 140 years ago, comes with great honour and I am delighted that you have shown interest in helping us achieve our Vision to stop child abuse and neglect, together.
Since joining the organisation as CEO in January, it is already clear to me that our future Chair will be leading an organisation passionately committed to creating a society that truly protects children, prevents abuse, and unites to create a world where they are safe.
Tragically, abuse and neglect still remain a factor in far too many young lives. I am looking forward to working with our future Chair to change this through achieving our three strategic goals:
- Everyone plays their part to prevent child abuse
- Every child is safe online
- Children feel safe, listened to, and supported
Children have always been, and will always remain, at the heart of the organisation, and joining team NSPCC gives you the wonderful privilege of hearing and representing their voices. I wish you all the best in your application and look forward to working with you to transform society for every childhood.
Diversity is important and plays an integral part in all aspects of the Society. Applications are strongly welcomed from women, those from ethnically minoritised backgrounds, people with disabilities and those from LGBTQ+ backgrounds.
