Qualifications and experience
- Current valid registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council
- Educated to degree level, or equivalent
- Higher qualification in relevant field
- Track record of leading strategy, cultural change, and service improvement
- Strong intellectual skills, innovative thinking, analysis, and practical application
- Substantial experience of working at a senior level in a high profile and complex environment
Knowledge, skills, and abilities
- An understanding of he NMC’s regulatory and social policy environment
- The ability to manager a complex, high profile and multi-faceted portfolio of work
- Effective skills for partnership and collaboration
- Sound understanding of the importance of corporate governance
- Highly developed communication and influencing skills. Understanding of the operation of education institutions and of the nursing or midwifery education environments in particular
- Excellent people leadership skills and proven ability to lead and empower diverse functions
- Financial acumen and proven ability to manage budgets and resources prudently
