Essential Skills
- A commitment to The Neurodegeneration Initiative’s mission and values.
- Experience of operating at a senior strategic leadership level within an organisation.
- Exposure to financial management as senior leader within an organisation, commercial, public sector or charitable.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Strategic thinking with a solution-focused mindset.
- Experience in healthcare, medical research, clinical practice, public health, epidemiology, health informatics or a related field.
- A strong understanding of research processes, clinical trials, or health data or healthcare policy.
- The ability to challenge constructively and contribute to board discussions with integrity.
- Experience as a Trustee with charity governance or working on Public or Private sector boards as a Non-Executive Director.
- Experience in working with a range of stakeholders across the health ecosystem, such as government, NHS Health Systems within the UK, Patient and Public Involvement, the Royal Colleges, the Clinical community, Academia and Life Sciences Sector.
Desirable Attributes
- Familiarity with neurodegeneration or dementia, neurological conditions and/or clinical research
- Ability to interpret and evaluate complex medical and scientific information.
- Knowledge of the regulatory and ethical frameworks surrounding medical research and the approval of medicines, diagnostics and devices.
- Experience as a Chair, with a good understanding of Charity governance and finance issues.
- Strong networking capabilities that can be utilised for the benefit of the Charity.
- An inclusive leadership style, able to inspire and support everyone to participate on an equal footing, to foster and promote a collaborative team environment.
